債券市場
美國10年期國庫券自1月以來首度錄得單週升幅,因希臘危機再度增強最安全的國庫券的需求,儘管美國經濟呈現加速復甦的跡象。

U.S. Market
U.S. stocks corrected, capping the biggest weekly drop since January, as criminal investigators took aim at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and technology shares slid after MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. posted a loss.

The U.S. economy expanded at a 3.2 percent annual rate in the first quarter as households spent more freely, setting the stage for gains in employment that may help the recovery broaden and accelerate.

Business activity in the U.S. expanded in April at the fastest pace in five years, indicating the manufacturing rebound accelerated entering the second quarter.

European Market
European stocks fell as a decline in Barclays Plc and a sell-off in basic-resource shares overshadowed optimism that a bailout for Greece is imminent.

European inflation accelerated to the fastest pace in more than a year while the region’s unemployment rate remained at an 11-year high.

Japan Market
Japanese stocks rose, rebounding from their biggest slump in 12 weeks, as earnings boosted speculation the world’s economy will sustain its recovery.

Japan’s household spending, wages and job openings increased, while consumer prices tumbled for a 13th straight month, signaling a sustained recovery that’s still not strong enough to end deflation.

Japan’s industrial production rebounded in March as manufacturers increased output to meet rising overseas demand.

The Bank of Japan kept the key overnight lending rate at 0.1 percent today, the central bank said.

Asia / Pacific Market
Asian stocks rose, driving up the MSCI Asia Pacific Index for the first time in four days, as profits at companies from Samsung Electronics Co. to Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. spurred confidence in the economic recovery.

Taiwan’s Taiex index fell for the fourth day of decline, but rose for a second month. Evergreen Marine Corp., Asia’s second-largest container line, surged by the 6.9 percent daily limit, the most since May 18, 2009. The stock was boosted by rival Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp.’s first profit in six quarters, said KGI Securities Co.

South Korea’s Kospi index rose for the 12th week, the longest winning streak since June 2007. KT Corp., South Korea’s largest phone and Internet company, rose. The company reported profit more than doubled after a merger with its mobile-phone unit KT Freetel Co. boosted wireless revenue.

South Korea’s industrial production grew for a ninth straight month in March as the global economic recovery fuels overseas demand for cars and electronics.

Singapore employers expanded payrolls for a third straight quarter as faster economic growth prompted companies to increase hiring at casinos and factories.

China/ Hong Kong Market
Most China stocks fell, with the benchmark index capping the biggest monthly loss since January, on concern government measures to curb property speculation will slow economic growth and hurt domestic consumption.

Hong Kong stocks advanced for the first time in four days as China’s biggest banks reported improved earnings, boosting speculation the global economy will sustain its recovery. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., the nation’s No. 1 lender, and China Construction Bank Corp. the No. 2 lender, increased.

Emerging Markets
Brazil’s Bovespa stock index fell, extending a weekly loss, as concern European nations will default on their debt and criminal investigative scrutiny of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. reduced demand for riskier assets.

Bond Market
Treasury 10-year notes had their first monthly gain since January as Greece’s fiscal crisis renewed demand for the safest government securities even as the U.S. economic recovery showed signs of accelerating.
