美國市場
美國股市上升,道瓊斯工業平均指數創下6年以來最長單週升勢,因新屋銷售錄得近50年以來最大升幅,增強經濟復甦的憧憬。

美國3月份扣除運輸的耐用品訂單創下自2007年12月經濟開始衰退以來最大跌幅,進一步顯示美國經濟加速復甦及層面更為廣泛。

歐洲市場
歐洲股市上升,全週跌幅收窄,因Adidas AG調高盈利預測、Volvo AB錄得盈利驚喜及德國商業信心上升。

德國4月份商業信心上升至兩年以來最高水平,升幅高於經濟師預期,因環球經濟復甦提振出口需求及天氣回暖令建築工程得以復工。

英國第1季經濟增長幅度僅為經濟師預期的一半,因天氣寒冷,反映經濟復甦於大選前兩週將維持疲弱。

歐元區2月份工業訂單升幅高於經濟師預期,主要是受到汽車引擎等半製造業產品所帶動。。


日本市場
日經225平均指數下挫,並創下近3個月以來最大單週跌幅,因投資者擔心政府負債增加將拖累環球經濟復甦。

亞太市場

亞洲股市下跌,摩根士丹利亞太指數於4週以來首度錄得單週跌幅,因投資者更為憂慮希臘預算赤字及中國調控房地產市場將影響環球經濟增長。

台灣加權指數上漲,但錄得自2月6日以來最大單週跌幅。當地第2大液晶體螢幕生產商AU Optronics Corp上升至自1月28日以來最高水平。該公司公佈,繼於去年同期虧損203億元新台幣後,截至3月31日的第1季純利為73億元新台幣(2.33億美元)。根據彭博的中位數調查顯示,市場預期AU Optronics錄得40億元新台幣盈利。

台灣工業生產連續第7週上升,因電腦、手機及電視螢幕需求增加。

南韓Kospi指數下跌,但連續第11週上升,創下自2007年6月以來最長的單週升勢。全球第2大液晶體螢幕生產商LG Display Co上升至自2008年5月30日以來最高水平。該公司公佈連續第4季錄得盈利,因平面電視及電腦螢幕需求增加,帶動相關價格上升。

新加坡3月份消費物價錄得12個月以來最大升幅,因經濟反彈,促使政府容許新加坡元升值。


中國/香港
中國股市下跌,基準指數創下5個月來最大單週跌幅。零售和汽車股下滑,因市場憂慮政府調控房地產市場將會削減消費開支。

香港股市下跌,?生指數連續第2週回落,因市場持續憂慮中國政府將會採取進一步行動壓抑房地產市場。

新興市場
新興市場股市於上週第3度上升,因希臘向歐盟申請貸款及美國新屋銷售錄得近50年以來最大升幅,增強經濟復甦的憧憬。

債券市場
美國國庫券價格下跌,因3月份新屋銷售錄得近50年以來最大升幅,及希臘申請貸款援助以避免違約。

 

U.S. Market
U.S. stocks advanced, extending the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s longest weekly winning streak in six years, as the biggest jump in new home sales in almost five decades bolstered optimism the economy is improving.

US Orders for durable goods excluding transportation surged in March by the most since the recession began in December 2007, adding to evidence the U.S. recovery is broadening and strengthening.

European Market
European stocks climbed, paring a weekly decline, after Adidas AG raised its earnings forecast, Volvo AB posted an unexpected profit and business confidence in Germany improved.

German business confidence rose more than economists forecast to a two-year high in April as the global economic recovery boosted export demand and warmer weather allowed workers back onto construction sites.

The U.K. economy grew half as much as economists forecast in the first quarter as winter weather hampered expansion, underscoring the recovery’s fragility two weeks before the election.

European industrial orders rose more than economists forecast in February, led by demand for intermediate goods such as car engines.


Japan Market
Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell, capping its biggest weekly retreat in almost three months, on concern swelling government debt will derail the global economic recovery.

Asia / Pacific Market
Asian stocks fell, dragging the MSCI Asia Pacific Index to its first weekly decline in four, amid mounting concerns that Greece’s budget deficit and curbs on China’s real-estate market will hurt global growth.

Taiwan’s Taiex index climbed, but recorded the biggest weekly drop since Feb. 6. AU Optronics Corp., Taiwan’s second-largest maker of liquid-crystal displays, rose to the highest Jan. 28. The company said in a statement net income was NT$7.3 billion ($233 million) for the three months ended March 31, compared with a loss of NT$20.3 billion a year earlier. AU Optronics was expected to post a profit of NT$4 billion, according to the average estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

Taiwan’s industrial production climbed for a seventh consecutive month as orders rose for computers, mobile phones and television screens.

South Korea’s Kospi index fell but rose for the 11th straight week, the longest winning streak since June 2007. LG Display Co., the world’s second-largest maker of liquid-crystal displays, advanced to the highest since May 30, 2008. The company reported its fourth-straight quarterly profit after prices increased on rising demand for flat-panel televisions and computer monitors.

Singapore’s consumer prices rose the most in 12 months in March amid an economic rebound that has led policy makers to allow the island’s currency to strengthen.


China/ Hong Kong Market
China’s stocks fell, sending the benchmark index to its biggest weekly decline in five months, as retailers and automakers slid on concern government measures to curb the property market will reduce spending.

Hong Kong stocks fell, with the benchmark index dropping for a second straight week, on continued concern China is stepping up measures to curb its real estate market.


Emerging Markets
Emerging-market stocks rose for a third time last week after Greece asked the European Union to activate a rescue package and the biggest jump in U.S. new home sales in almost five decades bolstered optimism the economy is improving.

Bond Market
Treasuries declined as purchases of new homes in the U.S. surged in March by the most in almost five decades and Greece appealed for help to avoid a default.
