美國市場
標準普爾500指數連續第6日上升,因就業職位流失幅度少於預期,增強市場對經濟進一步復甦的信心。 


美國失業率維持於9.7%,及就業職位流失幅度少於預期,反映儘管東岸暴雪導致部分僱主暫停營業,但就業市場持續得到改善。

歐洲市場
歐洲股市錄得自去年7月以來最大單週升幅,因投資者揣測歐盟將會在有需要時協助希臘解決財政問題,而美國就業職位流失幅度少於預期,亦顯示環球經濟加速復甦。 


英國2月份生產物價創下自2008年12月以來最大按年升幅,因汽油以至食品等成本上升,推高通脹。

日本市場
日本股市上漲,日經225平均指數創下今年以來最大單週升幅,因日圓貶值,及市場揣測日本央行可能進一步放寬貨幣政策。

亞太市場
亞洲股市上升,因美國申領失業救濟人數減少、有關希臘的債務問題得到舒緩及市場進一步預期日本央行將採取行動舒緩信貸情況。 


台灣加權指數上漲至自今年1月28日以來最高水平。地震相關股份方面,Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co率領科技股上漲,因該公司表示當地於上週四所發生的地震對生產線的影響有限。Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp則表示於1至2日內不會恢復全面運作。 

台灣消費物價連續第2個月上升,因農曆新年假期的需求增加,推高食品及運輸成本。 

南韓Kospi指數上升,並錄得3個月以來最大單週升幅。裝運股方面,當地最大裝運公司STX Pan Ocean Co上升至自今年1月21日以來最高水平,而第2大裝運公司Korea Line Corp亦上升,因中國鋼鐵原材料需求上升,帶動大型鐵礦石運費增加,刺激波羅的海指數錄得自去年7月以來最大升幅。 

澳洲今年2月份營建業擴張速度減慢,因新增訂單減少及住宅建築下降。

中國/香港
中國股市繼錄得5週以來最大跌幅後反彈。證券及汽車股上升,因市場憧憬股指期貨將於下月推出,及一汽轎車公佈盈利增加。

香港股市上升。商品及出口股領漲,因美國申領失業救濟人數下降,增強市場對環球經濟正在復甦的預期。

新興市場
巴西股市上升,因美國就業報告及當地通脹數據向好,刺激商品股上升,及增強有關環球經濟復甦的預期。

債券市場
美國兩年期國庫券價格第3日下跌,創下今年以來最長跌勢,因報告顯示美國今年2月份就業職位流失幅度少於預期,增強市場對經濟加速復甦的憧憬。

商品市場
金價在上周造好,主要因為貨幣市場反覆波動,促使投資者購入黃金。值得注意的是,隨著美元反彈,以歐元及英鎊計的金價均創出新高。此外,由於投資者關注希臘的財政問題,因此湧現視黃金為「資金避難所」的買盤。



 


U.S. Market
The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index gained for a sixth day after a smaller-than-estimated loss of jobs boosted confidence the economic recovery is strengthening. 


The U.S. unemployment rate held at 9.7 percent and payrolls fell less than forecast, indicating the labor market strengthened even as East Coast snowstorms forced some employers to temporarily close.

European Market
European stocks posted the biggest weekly gain since July as investors speculated that the European Union will assist Greece with its finances if required and a smaller-than-estimated drop in U.S. jobs added to evidence the global economic recovery is accelerating.

U.K. producer prices rose in February from a year earlier by the most since December 2008 as higher costs from gasoline to food fed inflation.

Japan Market
Japanese stocks rose, sending the Nikkei 225 Stock Average to its biggest weekly gain this year, as the yen weakened on speculation the central bank will further ease monetary policies.

Asia / Pacific Market
Asia stocks advanced as U.S. jobless claims fell, Greece debt concerns diminished and speculation grew the Bank of Japan will take further steps to ease credit.

Taiwan’s Taiex index rose to the highest since Jan. 28 this year. Earthquake-related stocks: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. led gains among technology companies after they said an magnitude-6.4 earthquake on Thursday had only a limited impact on production. Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. said the company won’t resume full operations for a day or two.

Taiwan’s consumer prices rose for a second consecutive month as increased demand during the Lunar New Year holiday drove up food and transportation costs.

South Korea’s Kospi index rose, and recorded the biggest weekly advance in three months. Bulk carriers: STX Pan Ocean Co., South Korea’s biggest bulk carrier, rose to the highest since Jan. 21 this year. Korea Line Corp., the second biggest also rose. The Baltic Dry Index, posted its biggest advance since July 2009 as rates to hire larger iron-ore transporters jumped on Chinese demand for the steelmaking raw material.

Australia’s building industry grew in February at a slower pace, amid fewer new orders and a drop in the construction of apartments.

China/ Hong Kong Market
China’s stock rebounded from its biggest loss in five weeks as brokers and automakers rallied on the prospect of index futures trading starting next month and FAW Car Co. reported higher profit.

Hong Kong stocks rose, led by commodities producers and exporters, after U.S. jobless claims fell, boosting optimism that the global economy is recovering.

Emerging Markets
Brazil stocks rallied as government reports on U.S. jobs and domestic inflation spurred a rise in commodities and bolstered optimism about the economic recovery.

Bond Market
Treasury two-year notes fell for a third day, the longest losing streak this year, as a report showing the economy shed fewer jobs in February than forecast bolstered speculation the recovery is accelerating.

Commodity Market
Gold prices performed well last week, as volatility in currency markets encouraged buying of the metal. It is worth noting that the rally in the US Dollar has pushed bullion prices to record highs in Euros and Sterling. There was also some “safe haven” buying of the metal by investors concerned about the fiscal problems in Greece.
